Apostle Suleman break silence on sex scandal

General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministry (OFM), Apostle Johnson Suleman has said that he is not angry at those attacking him on social media.

Recall that Nollywood actress, Chioma Ifemeludike alleged in a viral video that she slept with the popular clergyman for money and the memory has continued to torment her.

Reacting, Apostle Suleman implored his congregation and followers not to send him any encouraging messages again.

“Why are you encouraging a man that is not discouraged. I’m upset since yesterday. I saw messages saying that I should not worry.
“Read my countenance, when you see me moody you can encourage me. Do I look like somebody who needs encouragement? I’m not discouraged at all and I’m not angry at those insulting me on social media,” he said.

The clergyman said he is focused on his God-given assignment and the people who are insulting him, only did that because of what they read online.
“They are reacting to what they read. They are reacting to what they see and not what they know. You can’t know me and not like me, it’s impossible. Keep doing what you are doing and I’ll keep doing what I’m doing. I must do the work of he that sent me,” Apostle Suleman said.

He further added that all the videos made against him, he intentionally ignored them.
“My wife can bear witness, all the video done against me I’ve not watch one. Many of you have watched it but me, the subject matter I’ve not watch one. What I don’t see cannot affect me.

“Somebody sent me a video from a blog yesterday, that was the last time it was on my phone. I guard my heart so that I can have fellowship with God. Stop all these rumors and gossips. What will not encourage me I don’t give attention to it,” Apostle Suleman said.

Over 500 bandits lay siege on Zamfara town over arrest of leaders’ father

Bandits, numbering over 500, on Friday laid siege on Tsafe town, the headquarters of Tsafe local government area, in Zamfara State, to protest the arrest of Alhaji Masume, father to two notorious bandits in the State.

The siege was led by one Ado Aleru and his immediate younger brother, Sanata.
Aleru is one of the notorious bandits in Zamfara and Katsina states. In 2020, after leading attacks in four villages in one day, the Katsina Police Command placed a bounty of N5 million for anyone who provided information on the bandit’s whereabouts.

According to a local, Abubakar Balarabe, who spoke to newsmen, said the bandits blocked the railway intersection leading to Gusau, located just outside the town.
He added that the bandits divided themselves under the leadership of the two children: Aleru and Sanata.

“We counted 340 bikes. Ado led the Munhaye troops and his brother, Sanata, led the east troops”, he stated.
He, however, said they didn’t know whether the bandits’ father was released, “but we felt he has been released because if he was not released, the bandits would have attacked the town”.

The Police spokesperson in the state, SP Mohammed Shehu, didn’t respond to the SMS sent to him by this PressExpress reporter on the siege.

REPORT OF INTERVENTION AT THE MORGUE ON FRIDAY 20 AUGUST 2021 OVER THE MURDER OF STUDENT ACTIVIST WHO WAS ASSASSINATED MOMENTS AFTER APPEARING BEFORE A PROBE PANEL

Good evening comrades, collaborators and friends. Sorry for the late update. This is due to the pressure since Wednesday 18 when the Lagos State Coordinator of the ERC, Comrade Nurudeen Alowonle Omomewa was murdered. The purpose of this message is to update all of us about the developments at the Morgue of the Mainland Hospital, Yaba Lagos.

Many of you would have been surprised that contrary to initial reports that late Omomewa would be buried on Friday, he eventually was not buried. Here is the summary of developments which led to this outcome:

(1) I got to the Morgue of Mainland Hospital Yaba in the morning of Friday 20th August. I met Comrade Barrister Optimist in the presence of some doctors and other well wishers. Shortly after I came, we were shown what was said to be the remain of our dear Comrade Omomewa. It was nothing more than a mass of entrails which was highly decomposed and put together in a body bag. The Morgue claimed that those who brought the “body” – the Lagos State environmental agency (SEHMO) – claimed that vehicles had gone over the “body” between the period of 10pm Wednesday night when he died and 5am Thursday morning it was brought to the Morgue.

(2) Upon seeing the state of the alleged body, we had to protest saying that there was no means to identify the entrail as a human entrail let alone a human body. We said there was no way we could present this to the family as the “body” of their son. Our protest including the assistance of sympathetic student doctors who studied in LASU and the HOD Pathology, eventually led to the revelation by the Morgue attendant that they made a mistake and presented to us a wrong body.

(3) They eventually brought for us another body which was clearly and obviously that of comrade Omomewa. This body had a hole by the side just under the rib cage on the left hand side of the chest.

(4) With this development, the tension which had built up calmed a bit. By this time, some representatives of the family were already around at the Morgue. We then initiated discussion with then about what needs to be done. Our first proposal was that an autopsy be conducted. However by the time we began making enquires about how long this would take, we were informed that it might take at least a week due to the ongoing doctors strike. This made the family to insist that the body be buried the very day. Those of us pushing for autopsy had no choice but to submit to the desire of the family. The family also gave us the right to choose any befitting burial place for him.

(5) In view of this, we began to inquire about what it would take to bury him. We eventually settled for Atan cemetary Yaba and we got a budget of N125, 000 being cost of buying a strip of land for burial, digging, preparing of the burial place including marble as well as cost of pall bearers and conveyance of the body from the Morgue. Within the space of 1hour, we were able to raise this sum. The family graciously contributed N70,,000 while we were able to raise the balance of N55k from comrades, friends, DSM and members of ASUU LASU. We thank all those who made a contribution.

(6) Also the family had procured the clothe for the body while also documentations for the body’s release were being prepared. One of the documents needed was a release letter from the police. We decided to ask some comrades in LASU to proceed to the Adoff Police station in Iba to obtain this documentation.

(7) By the time they came with the documents, the DPO of Adoff police station, a woman police, was in their tow. According to her, Omomewa was her son and she felt the need to be their personally to secure the release of his body. However it was her presence, suspicious utterances and that of her men that eventually changed the situation and led to the non-release of the body.
( For instance, while discussing with the DPO, a few questions became apparent. One, the police claimed a patrol found the body around 10pm. This patrol decided to call the Lagos State environmental agency to pick this body for disposal. The agency did not show up until 5am the next morning. During this time, there was no record that the police offered any first aid assistance to Omomewa or even tried to take him to the hospital to see if he could be revived. As we all know, only a qualified medical personnel, and not the police, can declare a body dead or lifeless.

(9) Secondly, the DPO claimed that the police patrol was around the vicinity where the attack and killing took place so they ought to have heard gunshot if truly Omomewa and Majek were shot. According to the police, they were not shot but stabbed. However, when the mortuary attendants who prepared Omomewa’s body and sutured his wound were interviewed, they claimed that the wound they observed on the body could only be caused by gunshot. This also coincided with the testimony of the lone survivor, Majek, who said they were shot.

(10) Not so much after this, we realised that all the claims by the police about what happened were not an outcome of investigation but rather simply ill informed conjectures and lies. For instance, the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) who prepared the police extract for the body’s release revealed that he had not for once sighted the body for which he prepared a report neither had he or any officer from Adoff Police station visited the scene of crime or conducted any interview of potential witnesses. So in short, more than 24 hours after the killing, the police had not started any investigation. Meanwhile the police was anxious and doing everything to ensure the body was released and buried that very day.

(11) The last straw that would break the camels back was the request of the DPO that the family must swear an affidavit that they would not demand an autopsy as a precondition for release of the body. Ofcourse, this request raised suspicion as to the motive of the Police. It appeared to us that the police just wanted the body to be buried so that the truth of what happened can be buried with it. This situation led to anger and raised tension.

(12) But while this controversy was going on, a directive came from the Chief Pathologist of Lagos STATE, Prof Obafunwa, to the mortuary asking that the body should not be released until an autopsy is conducted. Ofcourse, with this new development, both the family and the police had no choice but to submit. So eventually the burial had to be suspended.

(13) Given all of these developments, we are now left with the option of pursuing a legal and political campaign for justice for Omomewa. This provides opportunity to be able to force out the truth of what actually transpired and the motives for his murder. We will continue to publish updates of developments around this case as well as informations of every steps we are taking. By tomorrow, a plan of activities to begin the pursuit of justice will also be out.

(14) We thank all those who have shown support and solidarity so far. We thank Comrade Ashiru, Chairman of ASUU UNILAG who helped settle the bill of N54k which the Morgue demanded for embalment and preparation of the body. We are so grateful.

(15) We however will like to place very one on notice that we shall require more support in the coming weeks.

(16) Thank you very much. Adieu Comrade Nurudeen Alowonle Omomewa.

Student activist assassinated moments after appearing before a probe panel

.
.
Yusuf Nurudeen, a student activist at the Lagos State University, (LASU) has been killed by gunmen suspected to be assassins in front of the university gate hours after appearing before the school’s disciplinary committee.

The university had accused the deceased student of alleged admission racketeering and unlawful possession of university documents and ordered the student to appear before a disciplinary committee. But it is alleged that the committee had been postponing the sitting for unknown reasons since January 2020 until he was killed on Wednesday, August 18.

According to reports, Nurudeen was shot in the company of a staff activist who had openly expressed his support for Nurudeen. The student died on the spot and his body was evacuated to the morgue, while the staff activist is said to be in a coma.

Before his alleged assassination, Nurudeen was a leader in the Education Rights Campaign (ERC) platform that campaigns for free education in Nigerian universities. He had described the probe as an attempt to frame him for being an outspoken opposition to the management of the school.

Nurudeen is said to have gotten married barely six months ago and is a father to a three-month-old child.

Buhari Wedding: Pantami is now my friend, Go and Die! – Fani-Kayode

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani Kayode has fiercely defended his attendance of Yusuf Buhari’s wedding in kano state on Friday.
FFK faced strong criticisms from Nigerians on Social media over his attendance of the wedding ceremony of President Buhari’s Son, Yusuf and Zahra Bayero, a daughter of the Emir of Bichi.

The fierce politician stated that Isa Pantami, a minister accused of supporting terrorism, is his ‘friend’ now adding that anyone not pleased about it can ‘Go and Die’.
“Are you still foaming at the mouth because I shook hands with Isa Pantami? Keep foaming and let your blood pressure go higher.”

“If you like drop dead. I offer no apology or explanation and I need no validation from you. You either trust my judgement or you do not and either way I do not care. You see my faith teaches me to forgive those that express regrets about their past actions and utterances and to be at peace with as many people as possible.”

“It also teaches me to shake a hand when it is extended to me in friendship. The bottom line is as follows: you can do and say your worse. You can vent until you wee in your pants. You can wail until you defecate in your trousers. You can scream and shout from morning till night.”
“You can run up and down like a weather beaten and rain soaked chicken whose head has been cut off until you collapse. You can do all these things simply because I took a picture with a fellow Nigerian and called him my friend and brother.”

“It does not move me and it changes nothing: though we may not agree on everything, Isa and I are now friends and we will remain friends. Live with it or die with it. If most of you had 10% of my courage and foresight Nigeria would be a far better place. History will vindicate me and posterity will judge us all.”

“You do not know what I know and you do not see what I see. You assume the worse because you are the worse. Whatever you choose to say or do I don’t care. All I know is that I will never prostitute my principles or compromise my stance on fundamental issues and I will disagree with those that I choose to disagree with but I will never be driven by hate or be deaf, dumb and blind to reason.”

“And unlike most of you I can never be a coward. I have the courage to be civil and to be civilised to those that offer me respect and friendship even if we do not agree on all things. The question is do you?”
“You didn’t see Buba Galadima hugging Ahmad Lawal. You did not see GEJ shaking hands with PMB. You did not see Atiku shaking hands with PMB. You did not see GEJ shaking hands with Osinbajo. The only thing you saw was FFK shaking hands with Isa Pantami!”

All politicians that attended Yusuf Buhari’s Wedding Not Different From Bandits — Gumi

Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has on Saturday, condemned the Politicians of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and those of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for spending millions of Naira just to attend the wedding of the son of President Muhammadu Buhari, Yusuf, on Friday, when Nigerians, especially School Students, are wasting away in the captivity of killer Fulani bandits in the bushes, until they can raise the ransoms demanded by their captors, Page 36 learnt.

His exact words: “Some people are in captivity in bushes dying silently, as kidnappers are holding unto them until ransom is paid. Others are suffering from hunger, as it is everywhere. People are facing all manner of problems, yet Politicians spend public funds on private jets.

“When Prophet Mohammed married off his daughter, who came from Mecca or Yemen? In the entire Medina, no righteous persons to oversee the solemnisation?
“Some Politicians are spending money to hire jets to go to a wedding, while criminals are holding people to ransom in the bush. The criminals (bandits) are milking the people.
“Some people have never earned N1 million in their life, but bandits would demand N10 million. Many people have sold their houses, farms, everything, and paid bandits for ransom, yet, some are not lucky to have their loved ones released unto them.

“Some Religious lEaders cannot survive without behaving in a servile manner towards Politicians. Politicians have spoilt the Clerics. Atrocities are committed in the country, but no one can speak up.

“People think only those in the bush (bandits) milk us dry, no! Even our Leaders milk us dry. Where did they get the money to hire all these jets?
“In one of the States, some pictures of a dilapidated Hospital were sent to me. The roof was blown off, and a patient was lying on the bed. That Governor is in Kano, to attend a wedding.

“How many Schools were rehabilitated? The money that should be used to cater for the people is the one they hire private jets to junket around. Are you not also a bandit?
“We vent our anger against ourselves, other tribes. People are left killing themselves, because of poor leadership.”

Suspected Boko Haram financiers slam 53 cases against AGF over alleged unlawful detention

Some suspected Boko Haram financiers have dragged the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, before a Federal High Court in Abuja with 53 different suits challenging what they termed their unlawful detention by the government of Nigeria.

In the cases instituted separately, the alleged Boko Haram financiers are claiming that the Federal Government is violating their individual fundamental human rights by detaining them beyond the stipulated constitutional period and without initiating criminal charges against them for whatever crimes.

They are seeking an order of court to terminate their alleged unlawful incarceration and monetary compensation from the government for curtailing their rights to freedom of movement in breach of their constitutionally guaranteed rights and losses in their businesses.

Plaintiffs who have been in the custody of security agents for over a month are Bureau de Change Operators alleged to have been using their services to advance the cause of Boko Haram terrorists.

The AGF is however claiming that the plaintiffs were hauled into detention on account of allegedly offering material and financial support to the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists unleashing mayhem on Nigerian citizens mainly in the North Eastern part of the country.

Malami, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), alleged that the plaintiffs have been providing finance and resources to the terrorists thereby sustaining them in the heinous crimes against the government of the federation.

The AGF is further claiming that the suspects are being detained on the valid order of court pending completion of investigation into their activities to determine the level of their individual complicity.

However at the Federal High Court, where their cases were listed for mention before a vacation judge, Justice Ahmed Ramat Mohammed, some of the suits were consolidated due to their similarities in claims against the Federal Government.

Justice Mohammed, whose period as a vacation judge terminated today and is set to proceed for a national assignment outside Nigeria, fixed September 1.2021 for further mention of the matters.

He ordered parties in the suits to file and exchange processes as required by law to facilitate quick determination of issues in dispute.
Malami had, during the last Eid el Kabir sallah, told the media inside the Presidential Villa that over 40 alleged financiers of Boko Haram suspects have been found and promised that the Federal Ministry of Justice would put them on trial after completion of their interrogation.
